Collaboration on Newborn Hearing Screening Advocacy (CONHSCA) Updates Meeting
6-10 pm at the Mallberry Suites, Cagayan de Oro.
Newborn hearing screening national program will be discussed. All ENT specialists, audiologists, pediatricians, neonatologists, and other newborn hearing screening advocates are invited to participate.

THE FOURTH INTERNATIONAL TEMPORAL BONE DISSECTION COURSE
A post-graduate course accredited by the PHILIPPINE SOCIETY OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY-
HEAD AND NECK SURGERY and MANILA OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGICAL FOUNDATION, INC. to be held at the Philippine General Hospital.
The course is designed to give otorhinolaryngologists in traing and practicing otorhinolaryngologists a review of the basics of temporal bone dissection. The will be a series of lectures and hands-on temporal bone dissection sessions.. CME units will be given to participants of the course.

Dr. Generoso T. Abes, Director of PNEI, rendered a lecture about the Draining Ear, in the recently concluded "Practical Otology and the Hearing Impaired Child" Course held at the College of Saint Benilde International Hotel, Estrada St., Manila last Aug 10 and 11, 2007.
The course was attended by ninety three (93) participants composed of otolaryngologists, speech pathologists, family medicine practitioners, pediatricians, medical students, physicians from the Department of Education, officers of the Academy of School Physicians, doctors of PHAPSI, audiologists, nurses and parents of hearing impaired children in the country.
This course, intended to be held annually, was designed to give generalists, non-otologists, paramedics, speech and balance therapists a review of the basics of hearing and balance, and to offer updates in common otologic conditions such as otitis media, otologic causes of imbalance, the role of alternative medicine, and the emerging problem of noise-induced hearing loss. It also discussed salient points on state-of-the-art technology for hearing rehabilitation.
